Well, we finished week 1 in the NFL under 50% and we are not worried at all. This is a long season and our predictions may not have been on point week one, but we’ll definitely make up for this weekend.
As for yesterdays football games. We were riding both home teams. The Redskins were -3.5 and they got decimated right from the start. They tried making a comeback, but all it did was boost fantasy points. The new Chip Kelly Offense looks legit. It will be interesting to see if they can continue this, especially with Michael Vick taking some serious licks. The good news in this game was that we really liked the over in this battle. It was definitely a high scoring affair. The over hit big in the fourth quarter with the Redskins marching for some late scores.
The other home game was on the San Diego Chargers getting 5 at home. This was huge. On the first play there was an interception and the second play of the game there was a touchdown. Houston pulled out the win, but the Chargers were able to take the points and win against the spread.
Some good news on the hard courts was the battle between Nadal and Djokovic. We picked Nadal to win at -155 and it was a no brainer bet. He walked away with the championship in four sets.
Today we have a few baseball plays and one soccer play to discuss. During the football week, you can get kind of antsy, so make sure you don’t force bets just to bet.
The first game on the ticket today is the Cleveland Indians at home against the Kansas City Royals. We are taking the moneyline of -114 in this one and think this game stays under 8.5.
Jordan Zimmerman of the Nationals is due for a big game. We think he gets it done on the road in New York. With the moneyline at -135 we are okay with this road pick.
The third game of the day is on the St. Louis Cardinals. We like them at home with the spread. -1.5(+105). This game could be a low scoring affair as well, so be on the look out for a parlay.
The final pick of the day is in Soccer. This is the World Cup Qualifier between Mexico and the USA. Both teams are coming off bad losses. Who has more to lose at this point? The United States. They’ve played well so far, but losing to Costa Rica was huge. This game could end in a draw, but even with a new coach for Mexico we think the USA gets it done in Columbus, Ohio in a stadium that could get out of control. This is one for the ages. We are riding the Unite States at +145. Either way this should be a good game.
