Yesterday we went over our Futures picks for the 2013 NFL season. Remember the first game of the year is on Thursday between the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos. The line in this game is currently Denver -7.5. Is this the time to buy the half point? We’ll leave that up to you.

We had a fairly successful day on Tuesday and we are right back at it today. Riding Gio Gonzalez and the Nationals played out really well last night. Although it was a high scoring affair, Gio did his job early and the bats were banging for the rest of the team.

The other pick from yesterday that we liked that played out real nice was in the US Open. We selected 9th rank Wawarink to beat 5th rank Bedych. This match went to 5 sets, but the +200 played out really well giving you a nice pay day if you took the swede.

As for today, we have a mix of events on the plate. We’ll start off with a little baseball, and then move into some soccer and Tennis.

Our first pick in Baseball is an early game. The Mets travel to the Braves. We like the moneyline on the Braves at -138. This could get to a high scoring place, but overall the Braves should pull out the victory.

The second play of the day is on the Pittsburgh Pirates moneyline at -155 against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Pirates have been hot and should stay that way on the road against the Brewers.

Our third play in baseball is on the Colorado Rockies at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers. With a -120 moneyline the Rockies have a good chance to pull off this win. Even though the Dodgers are the better team, Colorado has been finding ways to win at home.

Our first soccer event comes from England – English Johnstones Paints Trophy. This is a live betting match between Bristol City and Bristol Rovers. We will take the home team to win at +350. Bristol City is the better team in this match, but the Rovers have been playing some decent Soccer. Look for a strong upset in this game.

The one tennis match today we like is between and Spaniard and a Frenchman. DAVID FERRER versus RICHARD GASQUET. We like Gasquet based on experience in this match. He’s also +220. It could setup for back to back nice tennis paydays. Picking Nadal at -3300 just doesn’t make sense as a long term bettor. You can bet $100 to make $3.03. Those are some crazy odds for Robredo to pull off that kind of upset. It does happen, but probably not this time.

Tomorrow we will have our first real NFL bet. It will come down to some final research before we make our pick. Right now we are leaning toward the Broncos, but the Ravens always come to play. They are coming off a Super Bowl and they don’t want to start with a let down start. Stay tuned tomorrow for our pick. We think the Broncos win right now, but we aren’t sure if they cover.
