Getting it Done this Thursday

Bets for August 15, 2013We enjoy the action on a daily basis. Yesterday got off to a great start with the Reds pounding the Cubs for a nice winner. Of course this is the next day, but that one was very easy to take no matter. With a +130 you got paid off pretty well if you took the line. The other baseball bet we announce yesterday was the Pirates versus the Cardinals. Although this was a marquee matchup, it was probably one we should have stayed away from. If you did bet it, you should have kept the amount below average. This was not putting odds in our favor. The game we really liked yesterday was the youth soccer between Portugal and Switzerland. Come on people, Portugal is a power house and it is hard to bet against them no matter the age. With a -1 line and a +110 you had no pain with this 5-2 victory and made out ahead.

As for today we have plenty of action across the board. We’ll look at some NFL preseason football games, a Baseball game and we always throw in a specialty bet, which has been soccer as of late.

The first game we like is the matchup of the Cleveland Browns at home against the Detroit Lions. Although we feel the Lions are the better team, the browns seems to have the better youth. In preseason the youth plays while the veterans sit down. With a spread of -2.5 we’ll stick with the home team and watch the fun.

The second NFL preseason bet we like is the Philadelphia Eagles (-3) at home against the Carolina Panthers. Remember, this is preseason, so the teams are trying to find keepers for their individual squads. With Chip Kelly coaching, he has a long way to go to get his team in game shape. We expect the high octane offense to keep Carolina on it’s heels. The weather should be perfect for this one and we should see some fun plays. Don’t expect much from Michael Vick today, but Nick Foles is ready for the challenge.

NFL is Ready to Go

There is one baseball game we like today. We are coming off a nice win on the Cincinnati Reds yesterday and we are going to double up the bet on this Milwaukee Brewers game. They are on the road, but they know how critical it is to win. Although the moneyline is the better bet, the -1.5 isn’t that bad. The bats are working and the pitching is getting stronger. They are going against a sub par team as well. This make the decision a lot easier as well.

The final game of the day is a game from the International Youth Friendly. We just feel like Denmark has a better organization than the Romanians. Although pickem is -210, it’s okay to go an extra 50% on this one. It’s almost like a tease on the other side. The one thing we need to avoid is a draw. Once this game gets going things should move pretty quick. This could end up being a high scoring affair.
