There were some serious blowouts this weekend in College as well as some upsets in the NFL. We were able to take advantage of some while losing a few as well. Overall it was a positive weekend.
The big blowout weekend was going crazy. It seemed like every score was 50,60,70 point wins. It was pretty wild for sure. Our main picks ended up being pushes. This is one of those days, had you bought the half point you would have won.
We broke even on our NFL picks this weekend. We had a couple of solid picks with the Bengals getting points at home and the Colts getting 10 in San Francisco. The Chargers had the game covered until the last minute which gave us a push. The only real upset on the day was the Browns winning in Minnesota. Who knows where all these teams go from here.
Our FedEx pick came in with Henrik Stenson getting it done over the weekend. He took home $10 million. Not bad, not bad at all. Makes you want to teach your kids how to play golf. We had him as one of our picks at 12-1. This paid out pretty well. After we wrote the golf post he was definitely our favorite.
We do have one more game in the NFL to discuss. This game is between the Denver Broncos against the visiting Oakland Raiders. This is one of those rivalry games you don’t want to think about too much. Denver is a 15.5 point favorite for good reason. However, we think the Raiders keep it within two touchdowns. Denver will most likely win, but the Raiders offense can put up scores if giving an opportunity. Manning may throw records tonight, but if McFadden can break one run we are talking potentially a 4 score deficit that Denver will have to make up to cover. In a rivalry game, we are taking Oakland at +15.5. You may also want to consider the over in this one as well.
The Baseball playoffs are right around the corner and there are a few teams fighting for the last spot. Does that mean they are the teams to bet on? Most likely not. We have a couple of interesting baseball pick on the plate today to go along with our Monday night game.
The Cincinnati Reds are back at home against the Mets. We like the Reds a lot at -1.5 with the moneyline being as high as it is. The Reds had an interesting road trip to Pittsburgh and are now back at home to get things done on their turf.
The second game we like is on the Texas Rangers at home against the poor Houston Astros. An in state affair that the Rangers should be able to take care of at -1.5 or the moneyline of -270. A bit high for this payout.
You could do a Rangers/Reds Parlay to make things interesting.
We’ll be back with more picks, but hopefully the Raiders keep it close and the home teams in baseball finish strong.
