We won’t discuss yesterday in that much detail. Let’s just say it wasn’t very good. Today, we will have our picks for today and the rest of the weekend.
To kick things off we have a couple of Baseball games to bet on. Yesterday we had two teams we really liked that we didn’t bet on and they covered. The ones we did pick failed to do so. Today, we like the Nationals at home with Strasburg on the mound. Unfortunately they are -250, but we think if you bet small you should get a nice win.
We also like Verlander on the mound in Detroit. He is pitching well and they should beat Kansas City at -175. Actually, what we like most of all is a parlay with the Nationals at home and the Tigers at home. This pays +120.
Let’s get into the weekend action. First we’ll start with college football and then we’ll move into some Sunday NFL games.
The first game we like on Saturday is Texas A&M at home getting +8. Alabama should win this game, but not by 8. This is the game of the week for sure, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
We like Maryland on the road visiting Connecticut. Maryland is giving 7 points and it should be interesting to see how these two teams fair. Maryland is 2-0 Straight Up and Against the Spread. They should make it 3-0.
Let’s see what is happening in the NFL. The Patriots are good, but not good enough to beat the Jets by 13. They could not convert on 3rd down. This should be an interesting week of football action.
We like the Colts at home against the Dolphins at -3. Although the Dolphins held their own last Sunday, they did play the Browns. This should be the Luck-TY Hilton show. Take the Colts.
The Buffalo Bills getting 3 points at home against Carolina is a good bet. This could be a high scoring affair, but if they can ride some of the momentum from last week, they have a good chance to win this game.
We like the Green Bay Packers vs Washington Redskins over 49.5. Both these teams can put up points. As long as we have a fairly dry and wind free game this may get to 60 points. We are leaning on the Skins again with +8. If it fell under 7 that would be different.
Our Third game for NFL Sunday is on the Cowboys getting +3. We know they are up against Andy Reid and the Chiefs, who look pretty good, but we think the Cowboys have their number in this one.
Some honorable mentions include: Seahawks -3, Broncos -4.5, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers getting 3.5 at home.
It’s quite difficult to bet on Boxing these days. If you’ve been around the sport you know it is fading with so many bogus fights and bad beats (bets). This match is between Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on Saturday September 14, 2013. There are so many prop bets available it’s hard to pick the right one. We are going to stick with two bets in this match. We are taking Floyd “Money” Mayweather only because he is what’s keeping the sport alive. He is at -280. The one prop bet we do like is the Under 11.5 rounds. The boxing world needs a knockout and by going to decision, that won’t help the cause. TKO or KO by the 6th is our prediction.
