We had some interesting plays yesterday and although some didn’t work out, we are still confident with our picks. It’s amazing how certain variables, like a bench brawl can change the outcome of a game. This wasn’t expected, but it took away the starting pitcher for one of our picks.
The baseball game we did like the most was the St. Louis Cardinals at home against the slumping Nationals. This game ended 4-1 paying -130 to you bettors who took this pick.
The other baseball game that played out well was the Texas Rangers at home against the Houston Astros. Although this was a -280 game, it was a no brainer. You may have bet the spread and would have won more based on their blowout performance.
Our soccer game that worked out yesterday was the visiting team of Newcastle United coming to Leeds United. This was a 1-0 victory for our pick and the under also worked out. All in all we had a good day betting yesterday.
We’ll kick things off today with some Thursday NFL action, when the San Francisco 49ers visit the St. Louis Rams on a short week. San Fran is coming off back to back losses and they were both terrible defeats. We don’t think their heads are into this game right now. This doesn’t mean they don’t turn their season around, but when you lose Aldon Smith and Patrick Willis, the defense just became mediocre. This isn’t to say St. Louis is good, but getting 3.5 at home is where we like to be. Home team with points. We are taking the Rams in this one at +3.5(-105). The other option in this one is the under 42. You would think this will be a pretty boring game based on last Sunday, but it may ramp up, but stays below 42 points.
Our college Thursday pick comes from Georgia Tech. The visiting Hokies are getting +7 on the road. It seems like every year Georgia Tech has a Thursday night game and they always come out firing. We are riding this for our pick. Georgia Tech is 3-0 against the spread and this is another week where they get it done again.
Well, the Yankees are officially out of the playoff hunt which means they will suck the rest of the way. We are taking the Toronto Blue Jays on the road at -125. We know this can be hard to believe, but the Yanks don’t have anything working right now. The Blue Jays will at least come in there with some motivation on beating them in the Bronx.
We do have one horse racing pick today. It’s been awhile since we made a pick on the track, but today we have a decent race for us to consider. This is the 7th race at Belmont Park today. It kicks off around 4:13pm EST. Be on the look out at this time. We like the 2/3/9. This is a heavy group of horses, but it could get interesting. Look for the 1 horse to make a longshot run as well.
