The weekend got off to a fast start when the Cardinals took down the Dodgers at home. This had us up right from the get go. Unfortunately we didn’t fair to well in college football. There were a ton of out right upsets and we were on the wrong side of several. The good news is, we did fairly well in the NFL picks and the USA soccer pick, which pretty much brought us above break even. We strive to be over 50% of course.
The two NFL locks of the weekend were the Jaguars and the Steelers. A 28 point spread is just nuts in the NFL. The Jags weren’t going to go down without a fight. The Steelers were ready after the bye week and it showed. We’ll get into our Monday night pick shortly.
We have a few events to go over including baseball, hockey and football.
To get things started we’ll go over the baseball play. The L.A. Dodgers are down and need to get busy. However, Adam Wainwright is back on the mound. We are taking the Cardinals at -118. This guy has proven to pitch very well in big games already.
As for our NFL game we have the Indianapolis Colts facing the San Diego Chargers. We are not sure why the Chargers are getting so many National TV games. Is Philip Rivers back. Will he prove he can still play in this league? With Andrew Luck coming to town, this game may get heated. We think the over 51 hits. We’ve been riding the points at home for the Chargers and it has paid off. We think they cover this one again. They may lose by a point, but points at home is what we like in the NFL.
Our one Hockey game of the night that we like a lot is the Washington Capitals at home. These guys can score and they have a cross country team travelling to their home ice. We think the Caps not only beat the Edmonton Oilers, we think they win by two goals. We are taking the line in this one at 1.5 (+175).
With 3 picks tonight we should have some good winners. These are focused games and they all have their reasons. We’ll be back at it on Wednesday with more picks.
