Finish off the Week Strong

August 16, 2013We had a great Thursday across the board and it was awesome seeing some NFL football plays go our way. Although we liked the Reds all around yesterday, it was the moneyline that held up for us with a 2-1 victory. We’ll probably take the day off on the Reds now. The Cleveland Browns did exactly what we expected. The young players stepped up giving a huge win to the hometown team 24-6. The line was -2 and this game was won in the first quarter. Brandon Weeden got it done early and the Lions never had a chance. The Eagles game worked out in a different way. Although we thought this would be a high scoring affair, it turned out to be a tight 14-9 victory for the Eagles, but they covered the (-3) point spread. We’ll keep an eye out for the Birds going forward. It may take some time for them to figure out this new offense.

Today we will look at a few NFL preseason games like yesterday and possibly have a pick of the day. We did like the home teams yesterday, so there is a good chance it can do the opposite tonight.

In the first game we like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at (+3) against the New England Patriots. Although the Pat won big in the first preseason game, this time there will most likely be no Tom Brady. In most cases the Pats don’t do very well in the preseason. They usually put their youth to work, looking for the best players to keep. This will also carry live betting. The game will be on Fox, but check your local listings to see if it is available in your area.

The second game we like is the Buffalo Bills at home against the Minnesota Vikings. Although the line is (-3.5 -105), the Bills are one of those teams that produce in the preseason. We think the Vikings are still trying to figure out their identity. If AP doesn’t play, it should go pretty easy.

The third game on the sheet is the New Orleans Saints at home against the Oakland Raiders. Although the line is (-6 -115), we do like the Saints at home in the Dome. The Raiders are one of the worst teams and it won’t be surprising to see them struggle once again. They may score first, but it will be the Saints who take over.Betting On Football

We do have one day game today on the diamond. There is plenty of bets available today, but we like this live betting game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. The Cards have been hot and the Cubs have not. We’ll take the (-144) money line on the Cards. They are on the road, but the bats are clicking and they are still making a run.

Check out our information about horse betting. We will hopefully create a big section on this. For now, if you’re just getting started, this is a great little guide to get you to your first win. Don’t be scared of all the odds up front. Just try to make the best choice and see what happens.
